The majority of gramophone needle tins contained 200 needles.  Tins containing 500 and 1000 needles were made in smaller numbers and are correspondingly more difficult to find.  
 

Some tins which are marked as containing 2000 and 10,000 needles, such as the Piano and Peacock brands shown below, actually contained smaller tins each of 200 needles.  A good example of what that looked like can be seen with the WATT tin in the gallery.

The size of these tins provided more space on the lids for artwork so in many cases these tins had more detailed graphics and are therefore some of my favourite tins.
